Do you remember the advertisement in which a washing machine had stopped working because of limescale buildup that had settled inside it over time? Well, scale deposits related to the hardness of the water circulating inside pipes and household appliances, such as the dishwasher, boiler, and washing machine precisely, are the main cause of several problems. In fact, scale and limestone deposits:
– undermine the cleaning ability of household appliances,
– form obstructions in the pipes affecting water pressure,
– represent an obstacle in the heat exchange of boilers and thus in the production of hot water,
– cause damage to the resistance of the water heater.
An appliance that malfunctions or breaks down means wasted energy and unforeseen expenses, including very large ones.

The most effective way to solve the limestone problem is to install a water softener in your home. The domestic cabinet softener is a is a household appliance with high performance and low power consumption. The cationic resins to through which the water passes are able to retain limestone (Calcium and Magnesium salts), releasing softened water. In Italy, water softeners are fully eligible for both the 50% home renovation incentives and the 65% Ecobonus, as long as they are combined with the replacement of more energy-efficient boilers. It is possible to apply the 110% rate (from 1/07/2020 to 31/12/2021) if the installation of a water softener is combined with at least one of the driving interventions such as the replacement of winter air conditioning systems for energy upgrading.
